Dollar Day Deal: Butterfly Kisses!

Do you know about butterfly kisses? It's the very soft dance of your partner's eyelashes fluttering against your skin... ooh la la! This is a paper pack of 9 rich, patterned papers with lovely variations of flowers and butterflies (quite innocent, trust me! *lol*). I think they'll be great to cut up and use as bits of accents with other kits.

Heather T., Buttefly Kisses Paper Pack

And Vinnie Pearce came out with the sweetest little fireperson kit, it's just adorable! Here's a layout with a few of the elements:

Heather Taylor, Fire Station Goats

Isn't my little town great? Every day, Frankie the fire chief brings her little goats to work, Oreo and Buttons...

Everything with Vinnie Pearce's Little Fireman (Pixel Canvas). Font: News Gothic Standard. Journaling reads: "It can't be a real fire station without goats when you live in Yachats."

And also, I had fun once again participating in the Pixel Canvas Photo Swap Challenge, and scored Neat Freak (Lorraine) as a partner. She sent me a fabulous pic of the ocean during a weekend trip to Ireland:

Heather Taylor, Ireland At The Sea

Credits: Everything Vinnie Pearce (Pixel Canvas). Background paper from Weathered Greens. Masks criss-crossing photo/page from Page Masks - Set 03. Paper used for masks from Playing In The Snow (heart pin is also from that kit). Little heart and staples from I Live For, and button from Thank You. Frame from School Days. Font is Bradbury Sans Light.

And, do you know? I have a big secret to share with you. Next week. Hehehehehe.

A Foray Into Fantasy

Not sure why, but this compositing of images is fascinating to me. Obviously nothing in these layouts ever started together... =) Everything's mine; I imagine a fantasy kit is in the making. Heh.

A Productive Day

A ton of layouts, and even (don't faint) a card!!

My favorite is this lift of Neat Freak (Lorraine)'s "Untitled". Mine's called "Celebrate Happiness":

Heather Taylor, Celebrate Happiness

Allen has recently discovered how much fun dandelion puffballs are, especially now that he can actually blow some air out instead of just making a hissing sound. *lol*

Credits: Everything Vinnie Pearce (Pixel Canvas). Page mask from Set 03. Little heart (recolored) from The Great Hunt. Word art from Moments of Special. Star spray from Paradiso. Flower from Preserve It (collab with Fei Fei's Stuff and Catherine Designs).

Then a page with all Sande Krieger stuff (I'm sorry I have to drop her CT!), Honey:

Heather Taylor, Honey

It's amazing how much more relaxed Eddie is with this new job. He still doesn't like me to take photos, though, so this is a surreptitious one of him while I was sitting next to him on a log on the beach. You know, you kind of angle your little point-and-shoot ever so casually up and wow what do you know, your finger slipped and took a photo. Whoops! ;)

Everything by Sande Krieger @ 2Peas. Buttons and labels from "Buttons, Buttons, Who's Got the Buttons" and Note To Self V.2. Little "spring" tab bottom right from All Seasons Tabs. Bottom border from Fanciful Edges. Background paper (including top border) from Party On Papers. Tiny little heart from Home Is Where The Heart Is. And the "Love you" word art is from Word Play.

This was a quick one about Allen's very successful birthday party, Bouncing Off The Walls (inspired by the April Inspiration Challenge at Get Digi With It):

Heather Taylor, Bouncing Off The Walls

Well, there was rain all day on Allen's birthday, but we'd planned for it! Eddie emptied and cleaned out the whole garage, and the kids really took advantage of being able to run around. The adults stayed far inside out of screech range (well, except for the "lucky" parents who took turns watching over everybody!).

Credits: Everything from my Rain kit (GDWI). Fonts: FD Buttercream and kevinandamanda.com. Journaling reads: "6th birthday + 6 kids + a whole lotta rain = 'bout what you'd expect"

And finally, a fun (if imperfect) snapshot from a new beach yesterday, Robbie:

Heather Taylor, Robbie

We had a wonderful couple of hours yesterday at an unnamed beach north of Seal Rock where there's an exposed agate bed (i.e., you can find tiny bits -- the size of a pea, or a lump of butter if you're lucky -- of agates amongst the gravel). This is the Sheltie of the friend who showed me where the bed was. Such a sweet, old doggie!

Credits: Everything Designer Digitals (inspired by an IdeaBooks4U blog entry). Background by Katie Pertiet for a Color Challenge (021509). Letters filled by: "r" - Katie Pertiet, Botanical Fusion; "o" - Katie Pertiet, Buttoned Up Love; "b" - Anna Aspnes, Something Springy; "b" - Lynn Grieveson, Breezy Flowers; "i" - crochet flower by Patti Knox, Everyday Inspiration Challenge (030109); and "e" - Katie Pertiet, Digitally Pressed Flowers. Font: VTPortableRemingon. Journaling reads: ". agate hunting . a good friend . castenholz . how about this one . cracked bucket . shifting sands . tide’s coming in . wet pants . world’s smallest fossil . one foot territory . crow babies . weathered stumps . cracked rock . a day in the sun . good times . new beach . what speed limit . thank you . "

And also (wow, long post today!), I made a cool-even-if-i-say-so card for Vinnie, as it's her 28th birthday today:

Heather Taylor, How Owld Are You?

Credits: Everything by me, most of it made today. The inside would read "How owld are you today again?"

And FINALLY, a little card I made today for the Asian Card Exchange over at OSA:

Heather Taylor, Bird and Gold Thread

Just a simple card... Stamp is by Stone House Stamps, over a spritzed background (Ranger Adirondack Color Sprays and Moonglow mist) edged with gold Krylon, and mounted on yuzen washi over textured cardstock. Just took some gold embroidery thread and wrapped it around the card front.

Phew. Have a great weekend--hope you can be productive too!

Unadvertised Special!

All of my mini-kits are $1.00 today!!

Just one day, one dollar!! =)

Interviewed!

Jennifer Farley, of Laughing Lion Design, has been running a series of Photoshop-based interviews with various design people, and I'm totally flattered that she asked me some questions as well! Here's the interview: Photoshop Interview With Designer Heather T.

That actually makes me sound official or something, doesn't it? *lol*

A little poem for you this weekend...

Oh, I guess it's not quite the weekend yet! But with DH having a new 4-10's workweek, feels like the weekend... plus, it's my little boy's sixth birthday, can you imagine??

But this was from a beach walk this past week:

Heather Taylor, Joy

Credits: All mine. Photo blended with the music sheet paper from A Little Spring, and a paper from Rain. Font: Linenstroke. Poem reads:

"perhaps I was a bird
at some time
in a dream maybe
but I do know how to fly
how to channel the slippery
blueness of wind, how to
scream down gravity’s well
how to make myself lighter
by filling my hollows
with joy"

Freebie: Numerically Natty Add-On

The little boy, to match the girl!

1 paper, 1 brush, and 1 colored word art...

New Tutorial in the Shop: Advanced Extractions With The Pen Tool

Man, this one took a looooooooong time to put together, but I hope it will help everybody lose their fear of the pen in Photoshop. It's such a handy little tool... =)

And here's the layout that came out of that:

Heather Taylor, Love

Love is pretty much the guiding principle in our family. Love encourages respect and civility; love provides a path through the tangles of anger and frustration; love frees us and gives us comfort. This page grew into the representation of those concepts as I created it...

Credits: Everything by Vinnie Pearce, Pixel Canvas. Layered background and hills from He's Royalty. Feathery trees, and feather in the sky, from Paint Splatter Shapes - Overlays 01. Lollipop tree from Sakura Sanctuary. Feather and word art from Romance Me. Lighthouse and boat from Birthday Boy - Sea. Hearts in the sky from Young Beauty.

Genuine Love

With the new charity kit, Preserve It!, by Vinnie Pearce, Fei-Fei's Stuff, and Catherine Designs at Pixel Canvas:

James and Lily mushed up in the little round catbed that can barely contain one of them alone... They're not siblings, but they look and act like it!

A Sudden Drop of Wisdom (and a layout or two)

"We gather notions together from the narrow environment in which we personally have lived and store them up in our heads. And then we bind the spirit and the actions of ourselves and our families, our friends and our lovers, with those standards."

From an interview with Chikabo Kumada, a pioneer of botanical drawing from Japan. I really enjoyed the first part of his interview featured at PingMag (sadly now defunct); the 2nd part comes from the new website with some of the same people, Nipponscape.

All that to say that after 97 years, this artist is also a wonderful philosopher...

And now onto some layouts:

"You Are My Laughter"

Heather Taylor, You Are My Laughter

My sister's son, being awfully cute... Monkey button by Traci Murphy Designs, Flossit Element Pack. Everything else by Heather T. @ Get Digi With It: Frame from Chinoiserie, Word art from "You Are My..." Wordart pack, flower & color splat from "Innocent Surprise."

Boy did we spend a long time in that place--but we had fun hanging out with friends of ours and their new baby! Credits: Everything by Erica Hernandez, at 2Peas, from her Isabella Mini-Kit. Fonts: Adelaide & Telegraphem.

And finally, a layout that I created to go with my tutorial on using templates at Pixel Canvas, "A New City Every Day":

Heather Taylor, A New City Every Day

Credits: Everything by Vinnie Pearce, Pixel Canvas. Template from Give Me Simple - Template Pack 2. Background paper from The Tea Party. Background paper for small box from Moments of Special Freebie, as well as the little heart on the title. Text paper from The Art Corner Paper Pack 01. Sea star charm from Paradiso. Border on the small box from Woodlands Park - Boys. Fonts: Undo 35, 1942 Report, and Schrift. Journaling reads: "Every day, we try to go to the beach, and every day, you get lost in the possibilities of sand."

Have a great weekend!
