Clickin' Moms Project 52: Week 5 - Friends

I desaturated the colors in the background a touch, then did a little split toning in LightRoom.

Me Do It!

"Me do it!" Have you heard that cry from your toddler, now or once upon a time? Your child's new-found independence is definitely a step you want to record! This kit is perfect for that--and it even has a printable chore chart, as well as unique, hand-drawn elements, and lots of other fun goodies:

I had fun digging through some old photos of Allen, and found one from 2006, when he was barely 3 years old:

Here are some other cute pages from the CT:

And another Jen's little big boy Abe:

So much fun! I hope you get to spend lots of time @ MScraps this weekend. We're having our 2nd birthday bash, and there will be games all day Saturday and Sunday, with chances for prizes and points to store up for shopping even more. Plus awesome kit giveaways for $10 or $20 spending. And, there will be a blog/Facebook hop too! All kinds of excitement going on! On Sunday morning (Jan 29, 15:00 GMT), I will be having a "scrap by numbers" chat going on live in the chat room on the forum. Hope to talk with you there!

There's just something pristine about the quality of light at sunset, as if all the cares of the day were washed away...

My 4 Hens Photography Project 52: Week 3, Inspiration

I'm inspired by light, beauty, the natural world... anywhere I can find it, even in a dusty old barn!

Btw, for an interesting comparison, look at my first edit of this shot. I've really learned a lot since then--especially the last two weeks in the Clickin' Moms forum!

Clickin' Moms Project 52: Week 2 - Up

Here's Allen waking UP on a happy vacation morning... =)

My Little Journalist

Taken today, as he was dressing up to go to the town meeting... tried to get some natural light in the house by getting him to stand next to the open front door--but it was even snowing a bit today, so pretty darn cold photoshoot!

Sunshine Poppy, Version 2!

I've updated my Sunshine Poppy font at the request of a user to include common European diacritical marks. The font itself has been slightly thickened, and the numbers reworked a bit to make them closer to the thickness of the letters. This file has the same name as the old, so if you install it it should write right over the old one.

The updated version should be at dafont.com whenever they do their next mass updating. Enjoy! ETA: Oh! It's there already! http://www.dafont.com/sunshine-poppy.font

A Year of Hope: Pack 1 (minikit)

A lovely, shabby chic add-on to the Year of Hope bundle, this minikit gives you 10 elegant papers, lots of florals, and some unique elements such as a heart of beads (you should have seen me chasing them all over the scanner!) and some beautiful photo masks. You can of course use this on its own, or combine it with the previous A Year of Hope bundle!

I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend! By the way, have you seen this video/article about the little town where I live? It made the top 10 world destinations list on Frommer's guide! *boggle* I'm going to go enjoy it... =)

Photo Friday: Day's End

Part of tonight's stroll on the beach. Straight out of the camera, except for the logo... ;)

I've decided I want to challenge myself a bit now that I have a new lens... this is for http://www.photofriday.com/archives/challenge/001150.php

Happy New Year!

Boy, it's been a long time since I posted (and I still don't like this new blog format; maybe I'll get some time to work on it this month). We had a fabulous vacation in Florida (except for the heat part--can't take it), and now we're back home in the midst of our exciting winter storms--plenty of time to create!

And speaking of which, here's what I have for you for the new year: a huge Project 365/52/12 bundle called A Year of Hope! In case you're not familiar with the concept, P352 is the attempt to take at least one photo a day, and share it in scrapping. I can imagine that if you finished that and made an album from those pages, it would be gorgeous! P52 is for 1 page a week, somewhat more feasible. P12--well, if you miss a few weeks, then once a month will do!

I'll be adding to this "kit" all year long, but this is what I have to start you off with: gorgeous papers, a bunch of frames, flowers, ribbons, etc., a set of 52 week cards, a set of templates and numbers (these are included in the kit, too), and a set of flourish-y words to decorate with.

Happy 2012!
