Happy February, the red month! *grins* Here's a little freebie, courtesy of The Blog Train (which started at DigiShopTalk). I forgot to send my link in on time, though, bad me... -- but go get more freebies over there too! Here's my little section:
As usual, don't forget to leave comments, lest the hard-working designers perish for want of love!! =)

New In The Shop: How It Works
Oh, I've had the best time making this (and yes, it took a long time! *lol*) -- all kinds of grungy distressed papers (there's even one with robots), an alpha (which I forgot to include in the main preview, oops), a bunch of gears, screws, hinges, shoelaces... even some bottom of the pocket junk, and some fabulous frames! And tags. And paper flowers. And a notepad. And wordart. Heh. =) Lots of stuff!! Here's the layout I made with it:
And here's the preview!

Sweet Hearts Layouts
A couple of layouts with the new kit... This is the most recent I made, with a bunch of stuff from everywhere:
For the Speedy Speed Scrap at Get Digi With It...
Credits: Everything by Heather T. (Get Digi With It). Papers, frame, epoxy flower and hearts: Sweet Hearts Kit. Long ginkgo border & dragonfly from A Touch of Ginkgo Kit, as well as the button. Tag from Project 365 Kit. Safety pin from Chinoiserie Elements. Leaves from Rain Kit. Fonts: President and Reprobate. Journaling reads: "This is the hour before sunset, the hour when the waves seem to still, and the light becomes so incredibly rich...".
Aren't they just 2 peas in a pod??
And an old pic of me and my sister shopping in our home town in Switzerland that I dredged up out of some old albums today:
Credits: Everything from Sweet Hearts (Heather T., Get Digi With It). Font: Vogue (hehehe). Text reads: Girls... shopping!

Wherein She Achieves 3 Seconds of Fame (But No Fortune, As Usual)
One of my pictures has been included in the Schmap Guide of Seattle -- they must have been cruising through Flikr to pick some. Not that I'd ever heard of Schmap Guide before this! *lol* It does look kinda nice, though... =)

Project 365 Layout & Freebie
I finally recreated the layout that Photoshop kindly lost for me as it choked on resizing a text element with the false bold. I've -got- to remember that it does that... and to SAVE! For pete's sake, you'd think I'd know that by now... ;)
Anyway, here's the layout with my Project 365 kit:
And I made the "Peace" title into a freebie wordart for you (just click on the image to go to the download area)! And of course, comments are always welcome! =)

New In The Shop: Project 365 Kit
Somebody at Get Digi With It was asking about Project 365 kits, and for some reason, this just popped out of my pen! The cool thing is the symbol/number font that comes with it. Because it's a font, you can make the words as large or small as you like without losing resolution! Here's what's in it:
Contents:
Sure hope it tickles your fancy!
Contents:
- 1 font with all the numbers, plus some fun doodles, plus the words of the week, the names of the months, and "day," "week," "month," "the," "of," "st," "nd," "rd," and "th" (for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.). NOTE: I've included a chart with the keyboard strokes you'll need to pull up the words--just look for the .jpg with that info!
- 16 beautiful papers, 8 patterned, and 8 solids (the latter in a 2nd download)
- 3 frames
- 6 tags
- 3 tag-sized papers
- 3 different stitches
- 1 arrow in 3 sizes
- 1 birdie (use the papers to piece him into colors)
- 2 ribbons (one filled, one with just the lines--you can paper piece these, too) AND
- 2 layered templates in .psd and .png format
Sure hope it tickles your fancy!

Digital Card and some Layouts
Here's a digital card I made with a stamp from Art Neko (the woman), and the elements from my Chinoiserie kit:
And a layout, Tangled:
Everything mine--Background and matting papers from Paired Papers 1 (Get Digi With It); horizontal cord from Chinoiseries (GDWI), and vertical rope from Cowboy 1. Title alpha is from the Grit Alpha Pack (blog freebie). Font: Courier. Journaling reads:
"I am much a hermit
my shyness sharp and spiky
(my hair
used to be that way too)
after 47 years
I’ve got some well-honed
defenses. Yet
here you’ve come
and twined yourself
around my purpose
and my heart
and your beauty
grows through me
in wondrous forms
and I like it"
And Vinnie has come out with another amazing kit, Safari Street (at CatScrap):
Font: hlmt-rounded
And a rare, if not first ever, double layout with Sande Krieger's lovely Daily Grind V. 1 templates for the 365/52/12 project:
Larger version here
Not that I plan to take part--I scrap almost every day, or at least I used to before I had all these design projects pressing on my brain!--but Sande's template was way cool.

New In The Shop: Chinoiserie
Phew! I finally finished this mongo kit that's been clamoring to get out... It's mostly Chinese-inspired, with a few Japanese things here and there. 2 packs of papers with gorgeous patterns and textured solids, plus an element pack that's crammed full of frames, tags, calligraphy, beads, ribbons, and a double alpha with lowercase in one color and uppercase in another. Here's the kit:
And the two paper packs:
And the alpha:
And finally, a little layout:
I hope you like it! =)

You Are My Sunshine, Take 2
Credits: Template by Ali Edwards (Designer Digitals, Inspiration Challenge 1-04-09). Wordart by Heather T. (Get Digi With It, You Are My... Wordart Pack). All other elements by Vinnie Pearce (Catscrap, Bucket Full of Sunshine). Font: Garamond. Journaling reads:
"Especially
When, like today,
The skies roar with rain and sleet
And crazy hail chattering off the leaves
Especially then
I carry your smile in my heart
To pierce through the gloom
That can so easily
Blanket us into gray stillness
In a few minutes, probably,
You will walk into this room
Head down, hair all which-way from sleep
Eyes mostly closed
And you will climb into my lap--
Which seems to have become smaller these days--
And your soft "hi mommy"
Will sing to me as I hold you
My not-so-little boy
But still, my first rejoicing
Of the day"

Couple of Cards for the New Year
The first is for a Zen challenge on OSA -- Nature is truly what gets me feeling the most spiritual, and the closest I can come to the cessation of busy brain.
The second features the 3 traditional winter plants of Japan: Pine, Bamboo, and Plum.
All stamps by Art Neko. The Dream card was a little experimental: I cut a piece of manila folder, wet it down, scrunched it up in a ball, then laid it out and sprayed walnut ink on it and let it dry. I couldn't stamp on it as it was too uneven, so I took some white tissue paper and stamped on that w/Stazon, then glued it to the manila with Golden Matte Gel Medium. I then brushed over it with various Pearl Ex colors, and added a brad.
The 2nd card was stamped in black and embossed in clear on watercolor paper, then colored with a paintbrush and a crayon watercolor solution.

Layout Catch-Up (and one for Jenny)
Oh, AND I finally got the book I've been published in!! I'm so pleased... there are at least 5 FULL PAGE images of my cards, and even a spread of 1 1/3 page of a digital layout. Whee!!! This is not my own stuff, this time, but in a book on scrapbooking (which is funny, because I'd only JUST started scrapping digitally at that point)--I contributed mainly lots and lots of cards which are scattered throughout the book. Here's the info: Scrapbook Asian Style! by Kristy Harris (of Far Flung Craft) (Tuttle Publishing, Singapore: 2008). Coolio beansio! Those red calla lilies are one of my cards... front cover, no less! *happy dance*
And in layout news, I haven't done much recently because I've been working on some new stuff for me, plus I had to write a bunch of articles for Scrapbook News & Review. But here are three with Vinnie Pearce's new stuff at Catscrap: a collab kit with Kitty Design called "Wishes and Dreams", and a very cool kit whose depths I haven't even come close to fully exploring called "Buckets of Sunshine" (which we need right about now, heh. Though we didn't lose power at least!). The first one is for Jenny, she'll know why... ;)
"Dream"

"Wishes"
Everything from Vinnie Pearce's Wishes & Dreams Collaborative kit with Kitty Designs (Catscrap).
And finally, "You Are My Sunshine" (this is my mother):

The rest of the elements are all also from Bucket Full of Sunshine, except for the little birdie, which is from Playing In The Snow. Font: 1550.

2009??? Yikes!
Where, oh where did the year go?
Thank you all, oh you faithful readers and commenters, for making me feel like I wasn't entirely speaking in front of a whiny mike into a dark and empty room...
We're supposed to have sustained 70 mph winds, with gusts up to 85 mph over the next 2 days, so the power is pretty much sure to go out at some point. Just in case you don't hear from me till next Tuesday!
Happy New Year,
Heather
=)
